She lived on the Salt marsh of Plum Island, admired, beloved & misunderstood for 100 years. Drawing artists, of every kind, writers, painters, & photographers alike, who were inspired by her unique beauty & breathtaking landscape, through every season, astrological & weather event. She is home to countless souls, a beacon, a lighthouse, a symbol of home & summer. She may be gone, but she will never be forget!

What/ where is the Pink House?

The Pink House is a four square style home build on the edge of the Great Salt Marsh in a small town called Newbury MA.

Who built the Pink House?

Gertrude Cutter built the home in 1925 for her son Henry & his family.

What happened to the home?

The community, far & wide was, overwhelmingly in support of restoring the house & using it for an arts center or a learning center of sorts. Many options were on the table to repurpose the home but after a long decade long battle with FWS, ultimately, & unfortunately, the home was demolished, on a cool March morning, masked under a thick coat of fog, almost as if to cloak her in privacy. Nearly making it to her centennial, on June 14, 2025, she was cut short of getting to that milestone by 3 short months.
